Established in 1923, the Jonesboro Country Club's purpose was "to promote the bodily and mental health and pleasure for the members." In keeping with this purpose, in 1999 the club began a $1.5 million expansion and renovation project. The existing 11,858 square feet was renovated with a new addition of 4,287 square feet. The dining area, bar and pro shop were renovated and enlarged. A meeting room and a new card room was added.
